How to reach Valvasorjev Dom without a car?

Sorry, totally forgot: I want to ascend Stol and want to start at Valvasorjev Dom.

Why not use your feet? If it would be too exhausting for you, walk on the road and you may get lucky with hitchhiking.

Or you can just start at Zirovnica, and your climb will extend for about an hour, max hour and half. Just start a little bit erlier, you wont regret it.

But the altitude difference is much more. Hour and a half one way, makes 3 hours total more, hm, I don't know. Have to think about this.

Do you think, I could survive (normal fitness, not a fat couch potatoe)? I`m not a very big hiker.

Survive, o cmon, of course, the weather will bi much cooler next days, but you must watch for storms in the afternoon, so early start is recomendet.

Oh, I will be there in a month, not right now. Probably very warm weather in August. But I will remind to start early.

It is a long way from the bottom... You can try and ask right here if there will be anybody going to Stol from Valvasorjev dom on the same day as you (when you will know the date for sure ).

Anyone on the way from Bled (or nearby) to Valvasorjev Dom on August 17th or 18th, who could give two people a ride? (We are harmless)

You will not hike 9 hours. Only 4 hours up (if u are very slow) and about 3 hours down.

And down the hill all saints helps, but up the hill is nobody to help. Don't worry you can do it, especialy if you are early bird.

From the Valvasorjev Dom or from Zirovnica? Because I read it will take an average of 3.5 hours each way from the hut.

If you are an average hiker, it is apx. 3 hours more for the whole trip (up&down), do not listen to those chamoises . An average time (marked) from Valvasorjev dom is a little bit less then 3 hours for going up (take Žirovniška pot upwards!) and also something like that for going down using Zabreška pot.

Ask here a few days before the trip, most people do not plan easy trips like Stol so much in advance I supose. Good luck!

Just choose the right weather and take your time. No need to take food with you - it will only add the weight to your rucksack. Remember you will pass infront at least two cottages (depending on the route you will choose) so you can eat there, if you need to.

If you want to hitchhike to the cottage Valvasorjev Dom, i am sure someone will give you a ride soon.
